Child Safety Standards

HalfChat · Last updated 30 October 2026

HalfChat has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE). This page describes our standards, as required by Google Play's Child Safety policy.

Our commitment

We strictly prohibit any content or conduct that sexualises, exploits, or endangers minors.

HalfChat is not intended for anyone under 13 (or the minimum digital-consent age in their country).

We prohibit grooming, sextortion, trafficking, and the sharing of child sexual abuse material (CSAM).

How we detect and act

Every user can be blocked and reported, and so can every status, reel, comment and chat message, from the menu where it appears. When you report a chat message you can choose to send its words with the report, because we cannot read encrypted messages ourselves.

A child-safety report alerts our team by email at once and is reviewed before every other report.

Reports are reviewed promptly; violating content is removed and offending accounts are banned.

Confirmed CSAM is reported to the authorities: in India, through the National Cybercrime Reporting Portal (cybercrime.gov.in) and the police, as the POCSO Act requires. It is preserved as the law requires.

Reporting to us

To report child-safety concerns or CSAM, use in-app Report, or email [email protected]. We act on these reports with the highest priority.

Get help

If a child is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services. In India, you can also reach the CHILDLINE helpline at 1098.
