Delete your HalfChat account
HalfChat · Last updated 30 October 2026
You can delete your HalfChat account and its data at any time. This page exists so you can do it without installing the app, which is what Google Play asks of us.
In the app
Open HalfChat and go to Settings → Delete Account. The deletion happens immediately.
Without the app
Email [email protected] from the address on the account, with the subject "Delete my account". We will confirm and delete it within 30 days, and usually much sooner.
What is deleted
Your journals, memories, notifications and sign-in sessions are deleted outright.
Your synced address book is deleted — every number and every saved name that contact sync uploaded.
Your badge records are deleted both ways — who watched your public reels, and your place among other people’s viewers — together with the days you were a Star and your Bharosemand Bada choice. Anyone who had chosen you as theirs no longer has one.
Anonymous questions you sent or received, your Spotlight days, your challenge entries and the record of whom you invited are deleted.
You are removed from every Circle you were in, your own Circle and Connected lists are emptied, and every Circle request to or from you is deleted.
Your timeline and its photos, your special dates, your feedback, your starred messages, your mute and block lists, and any live location you shared are deleted. Comments you left on other people's statuses and reels are emptied and shown as deleted.
Your conversations with Aura and every message in them are deleted, along with the journals and published stories Aura wrote from your chats.
The record of whose profiles you viewed, and of who viewed yours, is deleted, as is the record of any status you screenshotted. So are your saved push-notification tokens and the encrypted backup of your device key.
Your name, email, phone number, profile photo, date of birth, gender, address fields, interests and other profile details are scrubbed from the account.
Every photo, video, voice note and file you uploaded is removed from our storage, including your profile picture and status posts.
What remains, and why
The text of messages you already sent stays in the other person's conversation, shown as from a deleted user. That copy is part of their chat as much as yours, so we do not remove it from their account.
What is left after that is the mechanical residue of other people's chats and statuses: an emoji reaction still sitting on a message in their conversation, a view counted on a status of theirs. Those rows belong to their copy, and none of them names you — the account they point at has had every personal detail scrubbed and reads as a deleted user.
Anything we are required by law to retain, such as a confirmed child-safety report, is kept only for as long as the law requires.
